I had this sketch at my notebook and I really wanted to pass it clean on the computer to see how much colour and kawaii I could throw into it. I’m pretty sure Gabriel would stroll all day long aroud the place with rainbow coloured cotton candy in one hand and ice cream filled crepes with tons of fruit and whipped cream on top in the other.
Dean didn’t understand what happened. The second time he kissed Gabriel he had been completely sober and even when he could deceive the rest of the world he couldn’t lie to himself. He had definitely enjoyed it.
He obviously knew how to kiss, but he had never kissed another man. Did the rules remain the same? And how the hell did they know who was supposed to take the lead? Was he overthinking everything right now? Yeah, he definitely was. Stop it Dean, you know you can’t win this one, just try to go along for the ride. According to Cas, it was important for Gabriel to be complete and not miss even a single bit of grace.
The kiss had started soft and hesitant, when their lips touched the first time Dean took a second to regain himself and assess everything, it hadn’t been that bad after all. He separated from Gabriel slightly only to go back for more, just to make sure the archangel was able to get his grace back. He pecked Gabriel like this one more time when the archangel began to open his mouth and Dean instinctively fell through the motions of experience. Before he could even realize what he was doing he tempted the archangel with his tongue to open up for him some more. Gabriel obliged, letting the hunter explore his mouth and play a push and pull game with their tongues, sometimes charging beyond his own boundaries and going into Dean’s mouth himself. His hands slowly reaching up along the hunter’s leg.
This was the only moment his conscience tried to warn him about the fact that he was going to fall headfirst into the rabbit’s hole. Red alert. Warning ahead. Proceed with caution. Gabriel couldn’t help himself and lifted up his hand, finding a sliver of skin between Dean’s jeans and his shirt. He slid his thumbs to touch and follow the hunter’s fine line between his firm belly muscles and the end of his hip bone.
The reaction had been immediate. Dean let out a soft grunt, pushed his body towards Gabriel and roughed up the kiss. Well if that wasn’t a provocation he didn’t know what it could have been, he urgently made way with his hands inside Dean’s shirt to take it off the hunter’s body while feeling how he pressed him down.
Dean’s own internal warnings were also raging inside his head. His logical part didn’t understand why he was into this so much while a more primordial side was telling him to just make the most out of the moment and the situation. Maybe it was the fact that Gabriel had been hornying about Dean for a while now and the grace stuck on him had done a fine number on the hunter after weeks of being by his side.
But none of it mattered right now, all that mattered was the feel of Dean’s tongue being sucked inside Gabriel’s mouth and the soft noises Gabriel did everytime he felt Dean’s body brush his own after they had finally relented sitting for a more comfortable position laying down on the couch, his legs surrounding the hunter and holding him as close as possible.
Each and every time Dean grabbed Gabriel’s lower lip the archangel reacted by lifting up his hips following his motion. Which was driving Dean mad. There was still room for debate in his brain though. The primordial side was fully on board with the idea of nailing down a horny archangel, male or not. Because he also was horny as hell and hey, both were consenting adults in the end. But the logical side had more cards to place over the table. First and foremost, he was not going to be horny all the time. There was a high probability that he might regret his actions later. And he was going to have to interact with the archangel later on. This was not a sideroad fling.
It was probably a good thing that their respective trains of thought got rudely pulled back to reality when they heard Castiel’s voice in the hall nearby.
-Sam?
-Yeah?
The first thought through Dean’s mind was ‘Shit’. His brother’s voice could be heard right on the other side of the door.
-Can you help me with the Netflix? The tv got an update and now it’s asking me for the email and password again.
-Oh, sure. Do you have a piece of paper? -They heard him move away from the door. Dean immediately backed away from the archangel who also made his way back into a sitting position, fixing their hair and clothes with a quick snap. -Here, this is the mail and the password. You shouldn’t have a problem with that.
-Thanks.
A moment later Sam entered the room and eyed the tv. -Seriously Dean? We just came back and you’re already watching cartoons?
-Hey, don’t look at me. He’s the one with the power right now.
Gabriel motioned his hand towards Sam with a smirk, the remote tightly gripped on it.
Dean woke up naked on an extremely big and comfortable bed on an absolutely foreign hotel bedroom with a hangover that could only match those he used to have after high school parties. And he was pretty sure he’d regret the parts of the night he couldn’t remember right now when they came back at him.
-Mornin’ sunshine. -He turned his face to be greeted by the bright gaze of the naked archangel laying by his side that was holding himself over his elbow.
Correction, he didn’t need to remember any kind of actions to be regretting them already.
-Gabriel? What the hell happened?
-You missed the morning round, that’s what happened.
Ah, yes, the pornstars. He had forgotten the pornstars. Ok, things didn’t seem to have gone south, figuratively speaking. He tried to move but the headache was too much, he groaned in discomfort.
-Here, lemme help you Big Boy. -Placing a pair of fingers on his forehead the archangel made the aftermath of the night disappear from his body in a flash and Dean couldn’t help but sigh in relief.
-Wow, thanks man, where have you been all my life? – Gabriel just chuckled while standing up from the mess of linens.
-Closer than what you believe.
It was odd to watch the archangel strut buck naked around the place without regard of modesty to say the least. But just like any guy he couldn’t avoid checking out to see how bad the competition was. Gabriel found his boxers somewhere in the middle of the room and fumbled with them for a second while a knock came to the door. -Room service!
He opened up, received the cart with the food and tipped the guy without allowing him to enter the place.
-I did think of shoving you out of slumberland, but you were sleeping like a baby. There’s no way I could’ve woken you up. Breakfast? – He motioned towards the cart he had placed by the table before sorting everything over it.
Dean made his way out of bed, not before locating his own underwear with a gaze before heading towards it. He could have sworn the archangel was following every single movement he had made, which made him quite uncomfortable and self aware.
They sat down and joyfully talked about the quite eventful evening they had gone through. They were laughing like crazy after remembering the look of the playboy jackass they had snatched the girls from. -Man, Sam’s gonna hate me when I tell him about this!
-Hahaha he’ll be shocked that’s for sure.
As in cue, Dean’s phone started to sound somewhere around the couch, where he found it inside the bundle that had become his jacket.
-Dean?
-’Sup Sammy?
-Where are you? You haven’t answered any of my calls for almost a day!
-It’s cool Sam, I’m with Gabriel uh… somewhere.
-Hey Sammich!
-Somewhere!? What do you mean some… *sigh* ok, nevermind, are you coming back soon? I found a case near Colorado.
-Uuuh… -Dean sent a questioning look at Gabriel about their whereabouts, he only answered by tapping an imaginary watch on his wrist and putting three fingers up while munching his food. -Yeah, sure, We’ll be there in four.
-Ok, I’ll have everything ready.
-Guess someone’s jealous of not getting enough attention. -Dean glanced at Gabriel’s smug face while placing his phone away from the food.
-We should bring him over next time. He holes himself up way too much and desperately needs some fun.
-If that’s what you wish. -Gabriel shrugged nonchalantly. -Maybe we should add Cas to the mix while we’re at it. We bring the couple of stiffs and see that they get enough distraction to make up for a lifetime of dullness, which is going to have to be a lot in my brother’s case. -Dean heartfully laughed at Gabriel’s comment. His eyes shining brightly, captivating the angel’s sight. -You know Dean? The world’s really missing something when you’re not laughing like that.
Dean had been close to shut him up but the deep honey of the archangel’s eyes locked him in place. His laugh softly wore off and all he was left with was a sensation akin to losing his breath. It was just an instant, but it elongated itself enough for Dean to cough softly. -Uhm, right, let’s uh… let’s finish up, I need to take a bath before leaving.
Gabriel just hummed his compliance to the comment and went back to the melting ice cream of his waffles. He was desperately biting his tongue to avoid making a remark about giving Dean some help scrubbing his back in the shower.
Stupid Windows got an update and now I have to reinstall it because they obviously are idiots that no longer know how to do their job well. I think it’s time to change for Linux.
Anyway here’s my headcanon of Dean and Gabriel bonding over Dr. Sexy MD
-Hasn’t Gabriel been popping around you way too much these days?
-Yeah, it’s kind of weird. I asked him about that the other day. -Sam choked on his apple juice but recovered fast.
-What did he say?
-That he does it ‘cause he likes me.
-And?
-Well, as long as he doesn’t meddle with our hunts and stuff I guess it’s alright.
Sam couldn’t believe it, the archangel had been quite straightforward about it and yet his brother had only taken it as a statement of friendship.
-Why? What’s up with the face?
-I don’t… I mean, don’t get me wrong but it took you a lot to get used to Cas being near you and now you allow Gabriel to even sit on your lap without a flinch.
Dean pondered Sam’s inquiry for a moment. -Well yeah, but Cas is Cas and Gabe is Gabe. I mean, it’s kind of expected for him to act like that. And he’s an idiot most times but for some reason I can stand those quirks without a problem.
Sam’s brain was flashing with red alert lights everywhere. He didn’t realize how it happened but it was obvious Dean didn’t consider Gabriel a danger. Still, why was he so worried about it? Dean was straight, there was no way for him to be attracted to Gabriel.
He suddenly became more worried about himself, why would Dean having a significant other be such an issue now? Back in the days he had been with Lisa he never felt like his brother needed to be protected. Granted, he didn’t feel anything since he was soulless but still…
-Sam?
-Huh?
-You alright man? You’re spaced out.
-Uh… yeah, yeah I am. I just didn’t sleep well enough. -Dean gave him the worried older brother look. -I’m fine. For real.
Castiel looked at Sam who for the eleventh time had to go three pages back into the book he was reading because he was obviously not focused on it. Dean had gone out with Gabriel again and he wasn’t sure at what time they would show up again, last time Gabriel accompanied him ‘to get supplies’ Dean had called half a day later to say they somehow ended in the middle of New Orleans’ Mardi-Gras.
He sat by the hunter’s side on the armrest to read a paragraph from the book. It took the seraph just an instant to recall the information from the books Metatron had stashed on his brain years ago. It was ‘The Name of the Rose’. -I like that book. – Was his simple comment.
Sam, who was obviously in another realm jumped when he heard Cas so near. -Wha…? Cas? I’m sorry, what?
Castiel squinted his eyes. -What’s wrong Sam?
-I… uh… I don’t know Cas. I honestly don’t know. -the hunter sighed moodily- Did you know Gabriel likes Dean? Like, as in wanting to be more than friends?
-It’s hard for anyone not to notice, he donnes your brother with a lot of attention. Why?
-Well, what do you think about it?
-I think that knowing my brother, Dean’s already in for the ride whether he likes it or not.
Sam’s spirits fell a lot more, to be honest he kind of hoped Cas to be more antagonizing about the idea. If push came to shove, he’d feel a lot better if it was Cas the one that wanted to be near Dean like that, weird as it seemed right now. I mean the profound bond thing was still a thing, right?
-Don’t worry Sam, my brother would never hurt Dean in any way.
Usually, Sam used to be the hugger but he felt infinitely reassured when Cas placed his hand over his shoulder in a loose embrace. Damn the angel, he certainly knew how to read him well.
-Yeah it’s not just that. It’s… I don’t even know what is. I mean, Dean’s not even into guys.
-Angels are primarily asexual, we don’t need to intercourse in order to show our love. Gabriel would never force himself on your brother.
Sam’s face went three shades of red, Cas was still dense at the worst places and times and now he definitely was having a hard time trying not to imagine his brother entangled with the archangel. His hand over his face.
-Yeah, uh, thanks for the reassurance Cas.
A soft but glowing smile seized the angel’s face -I’m glad I’ve helped. -He stood up and walked away up to the library entrance. -Sam? – the hunter turned his gaze up to him. -You know I can be there for you anytime, right? I also love you after all.
Sam was unable to even provide an answer to that, Cas was already on his way to who knows where (probably watch some Netflix) and his brain had been in overdrive for a while. It was love as in, like a brother, right? Yeah, it probably was. It definitely was. Because the fact that Gabriel actually liked his brother didn’t mean that Cas would automatically like him in the same ‘as a couple’ kind of way. I mean, come on Sam, you’re just beating around the bush way too much.
He passed his hands through his hair hunched over the couch. He was royally screwed.
Today was one of the few lazy Sunday kind of days the guys got and Dean was not ready to let go of it so easily.
-I’m sorry dude, I’m not changing this robe and leaving home for anything in the world.
To be honest, it was remarkable that Gabriel had actually poofed up to ask him out for the day, apparently the last time he told him off for angelically getting him in a rodeo had sunk in.
-Aw come on Bean! This time we’re gonna have fun!
-Last time you said that I ended up tied up to a middle ages torture device so no thanks.
-But it was still a lot of fun. -he wiggled his eyebrows at him.
-Maybe for you and your fairy friends.
-Seriously!? There’s nothing exciting inside this box of concrete!
-Exactly. I don’t want exciting today. I want to hoard the couch, grab a ton of snacks and only stand up to go take a crap. But hey, don’t mind me, you can go out wherever you want by yourself.
Dean went away to the kitchen to grab his supply of beer and chips for the day while Gabriel hung his shoulders down to accompany his sigh of dejection. -Fiiine. I’ll stay here then.
Sam was looking at the interaction in amusement from his chair. -Why are you so eager on taking my brother anyways? You can conjure up anyone else with a snap.
-It’s just not the same Samsquatch. -He had taken his place by Dean’s spot on the couch while appearing a milkshake. -And I happen to like your brother. He’s different; he fights with me, he makes me think and he still gets me, you know? Kind of hard to meet when you’ve existed since almost the start of creation. By the way, you don’t really mind me becoming your brother in law, right?
A sound of bemused incredulity came out of the younger Winchester -Sure, if that ever gets to happen. You might want to remember that he’s not into dudes.
-Well, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Sam didn’t say anything else since Dean came back to the room, but he couldn’t help feeling a bit unsettled when Gabriel throwed his legs on the hunter’s lap and Dean only reacted by groaning softly and moving his bowl of chips to a safer position.
-By the way, I don’t really mind you dating my little brother if you ever consider him as a choice.
-DUDE! -Was the Winchesters unison reaction towards Gabriel’s chuckles.
Chapter 13×21 just came out yesterday. I cannot stress how delighted I was to know Gabriel had shut himself up in Dean’s room.
Gabriel knew it was the chance of a lifetime to be allowed into Dean’s room instead of barging in. Not that he had not tried before but the hunter had been smart and stopped him every time. Granted it had not been Dean’s idea to let him in but after Castiel gave him the green light it was pretty much as if Dean had agreed to it, right? Right.
First things first he took all the grace he could without impairing himself, which was not much but the spell only said it required grace, it never said how much so this should be enough he convinced himself.
Then he turned around to see the layout of the bedroom and rubbed his palms together.
-Now, if I were Dean, where would I place my porn?
He went directly to the side table by the bed, only his hunter’s old journal, a pen and a couple of random papers and a notebook visible on the top drawer. He started to take everything out, he didn’t know what he was looking for but he knew he was close to something and then at the furthest corner he saw a glimpse of shiny silver metal that was undeniably better than gold.
He reached for the cold cylindrical object and after he had it within his grasp, he sensed around for something else, knowing it had to be there too. Surely, his fingers suddenly bumped into a soft yet firm object, he retrieved both pieces and after studying the distinct shape of the black latex ring that enticed his own ideas, Gabriel finally decided to put that back in place along with everything else.
He pocketed the bullet in the zippered pocket of his jeans and began to scheme how to break the news on Dean that he would have to work hard for the archangel if he wanted to have his vibrator back.
Sam was hunched over some odd runes that he couldn’t understand. It had already been eight hours since he last stood up for anything.
-Sam, you should get some rest and something to eat.
The hunter tiredly passed his fingers over his eyes. -I know, I know, just… Just this page and…- Castiel unceremoniously closed the book he had been checking.
-Now.
Sam considered for a second to argue with the angel but he already knew better and made way to the kitchen.
-Well look at that, who’d know you like to babysit Sammich.
-Hello, brother.
-Have you ever thought about helping him get dressed for bed too? Passing your hand through his hair until he falls asleep?
Castiel just squinted his eyes a little while tilting his head. -I’m pretty sure Sam wouldn’t appreciate being treated like a toddler.
Gabriel lifted his hands up to the sky with a groan. -Seriously? You don’t even get I’m trying to tease you? Like, actually implying that you like the guy? How dense can you actually get to be Castiel?
-Well, I do like Sam, I wouldn’t care so much about him if I didn’t.
-That’s not the same kind of liking I’m talking about! I’m talking about smooching and christening furniture all around the house as loud as you can!
-You mean like what you’d like to do with Dean?
-Exactly! Just like…- Gabriel suddenly stopped and glared at Castiel who was sporting a smug smile. -You!
Gabriel sighs could be heard all the way from the kitchen to the library. He had been like that all the morning after Sam and Dean left for a quick hunt a couple states away and Castiel couldn’t take it anymore.
-Brother.
-*sigh* ‘Sup bro.
-What’s wrong?
-I’m screwed Cas. That’s what’s wrong. -The angel’s tilt of his head was all Gabe was going to get as a form of inquiry. -I kissed Dean and left some of my grace on him, now I can’t stop wanting to get close to him again.
Cas went blank for a second while looking at his brother gobbling a whole cake with ice-cream, there were a ton of questions forming on his head in a flash. Gabriel and Dean kissed? When had they kissed? How did Gabriel even manage to convince Dean on kissing him? Because he had done it willingly, right? …RIGHT? But maybe the most important thing at the moment was:
-You left part of your grace on him!? -Dejected sigh as answer -How?
-I… I just wanted to feel him and I ended up touching him with it. I didn’t notice until a lot later because it had been such a little bit but Dean felt something was odd and I… I couldn’t tell him about my mistake when I realized it.
Cas was abashed. He knew his brother could seem bold but he’d proven more than enough times how cunning he actually was, being able to fool even The Devil himself. The simple fact that he had let his guard down like that only meant that either he had been extremely drunk or extremely smitten by the hunter, in this case probably both.
-You have to retrieve it.
-No shit Sherlock like I don’t know! But try to go convincing Dean of sharing another kiss!
-How did you convince him of getting the first one?
Gabriel squirmed uncomfortably on his chair. -Let’s just say I don’t think the same trick will work again.
Castiel only nodded. -I’ll see what I can do to help you. -Gabriel turned to his brother with hope brimming on his eyes. -Thanks Cas. Ice cream?
Three days later Castiel took a hold of the hunter right after they parked Baby and dragged him out of both of their brother’s ears reach before he began to expose the issue at hand.
Some time after that, Dean finally found Gabriel holed up in his mancave watching Netflix. He shut the door close just to make sure Sam didn’t see something from the hallway in the least convenient moment. He sat by Gabriel’s side and eyed the show.
-Gravity Falls?
-Reality is an illusion.
-The universe is a hologram.
A silent understanding flashed between their eyes before Gabriel turned his gaze back to the screen. He was clearly uncomfortable now that the silence had settled back. Dean sighed loudly.
-So you didn’t do anything to me that night, huh?
Dang it, Gabriel knew he had asked Cas for help but he’d be damned if he didn’t want to snap the seraph into a thousand feathers right now.
-In my defense, it was never on purpose.
-Yeah, I could get that much. -Both shifted a little. -So all you need to do is get your bit of grace back, right?
-Right.
-Okay then.
Gabriel turned to look at him clearly shocked. Okay? He didn’t know what his brother had told Dean but he was pretty sure he hadn’t left aside the most important part of the issue.
-You realize we have to kiss again, right?
The elephant in the room had finally been addressed. Dean was not entirely comfortable with the idea but this was nothing compared to what he had to put up with at some hunts. He gathered himself and leaned over Gabriel.
-Ok Gabe you gotta be honest with me right here, right now. Did you do something to me that night?
Dean knew himself, he knew that he had never felt any kind of attraction for men before, that it was beyond the realm of possibilities to even think about that and yet here he was, remembering the heated embrace he had shared with Gabriel after accepting his offer of a thousand bucks to nothing he could give him a boner with just one kiss.
Good news were, he had got a thousand bucks richer despite the ethilic overdose he had at the time. Bad news were, a month later he had started to wake up wanting to feel some lips again, more than ever.
And watching the archangel softly pass his tongue over his lips a few inches away from his own face wasn’t helping him. He looked down to Dean’s lips with a hungry look.
-Well, I remember doing something very specific to you that night.
-Don’t play dumb on me Gabriel! You know what I mean!
Gabriel’s conceited look mellowed after seeing the hunter’s honest look of distress.
-No Dean, I didn’t.
-You sure about that?
-Cross my heart and hope to cry.
After what felt an eternity Dean dejectedly looked down and sighed. -Okay… I believe you.
He started to move away from Gabriel when he felt his wrist pulled back softly by the archangel. Dean locked his gaze on him and saw an odd tremor behind his usually nonchalant facade.
-This is just a vessel Dean. You do get that, right?
Dean nodded while moving away from him, his hand free from the soft grasp. Of course he knew Gabriel’s body was just a vessel. His brain was more than able to understand that angels needed vessels to be able to interact with the real world. Why had Gabriel tried to even make a point of that? It had nothing to do with their conversation anyways.
Gabriel would never admit it but that night he actually had done something. Only not to Dean, not willingly at least. He had thrown his grace as close to the surface as possible in order to feel the hunter. Really feel him. He had always liked him and, reckless as he was, he couldn’t pass up the chance of scoring with him. And it had been a mistake, because he had obviously left a bit of his grace clinging onto Dean.
